All animals that are up for adoption are fully vetted prior to leaving our facility. Every animal is spayed or neutered, microchipped, dewormed, up to date on age appropriate vaccines, and current on flea/tick & heart worm prevention, FELV/FIV tested (kittens & cats) & 4DX heart-worm/Lyme test (all dogs over 6 months old).

Our rescued animals come from all over the country, many are local strays, abandoned, or misplaced for a number of reasons, at high kill shelters out of state and owner surrenders. Some animals that come to HVARS have absolutely no history and we have to take our best educated guess on age & breed.

If you are looking to adopt, the very first step is to submit an adoption application which will take 1-5 days to be fully processed by the staff. We are not a first come first serve animal rescue and we can deny any applicant we do not find fit for adoption. You must be 21 years or older to adopt from our facility.

SENIOR DOGS (7+YEARS): $200

After being approved for adoption, you will be called to set up an appointment to come to our facility and meet the adoptable animals. MOST of our animals are housed at our facility.
